Terms & Refunds
The rules for booking, paying for, rescheduling and cancelling a Gajahasta workshop, including what happens if we cancel a batch. Please read this before you pay.
Last updated: October 2026
Summary
- Your seat is confirmed once your payment is received.
- Cancel 7 or more days before your workshop and you get back what you paid, except the GST. Less than 7 days before, we cannot offer a refund.
- Need to reschedule? Tell us and we will move you to the next available slot.
- If we cancel or postpone a batch, you choose between a full refund and a seat in the next batch.
- Booked on BookMyShow, District or Offlyn? That platform's refund rules apply.
Booking and payment
These terms apply to every workshop offered by Gajahasta, whether group or one-to-one, in the studio or online. By paying for a workshop you confirm that you have read and accepted them.
- Your seat is confirmed only once your full payment has been received. An enquiry or a conversation on WhatsApp does not hold a seat.
- All prices are in Indian rupees and are inclusive of applicable GST, unless stated otherwise at the time of booking.
- For bookings made directly with us, payment is made by UPI. We send you a QR code and you pay on it. Please pay only to a QR code sent to you by Gajahasta directly.
- You will receive a confirmation with your workshop dates, timings and location, or the online joining details.
- Group workshops run with a limited number of participants so that each person receives personal attention. Seats are allotted in the order that payments are received.
Cancellation and refunds
If you can no longer attend, write to us as early as possible. The refund depends on how much notice you give before the start of your workshop.
| Notice given | Refund | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| 7 or more days | Everything you paid, except the GST | Move to the next available slot |
| Less than 7 days | No refund | Move to the next available slot |
| No-show | No refund | None |
- GST is the tax included in the price you pay, and that part is not refunded.
- Notice counts only from the time we receive your written message by email or WhatsApp. A phone call on its own is not sufficient.
- Once your session has begun, the fee is not refundable. Where a workshop runs over more than one session, missing a session does not entitle you to a refund. See "Late arrival and no-shows" for how a missed session may be made up.
- For payments made directly to us, refunds are paid back to the UPI or bank account you paid from, within 7 working days of approval. Your bank may take additional time to show the amount.
Not sure which applies to you? WhatsApp us and we will sort it out.
Bookings through other platforms
If you book through a platform like BookMyShow, District or Offlyn, that platform takes your payment, so its cancellation and refund rules apply. Please ask the platform for any refund. To reschedule, just tell us and we will move you to the next available slot. Everything else on this page still applies.
Rescheduling and transfers
Group workshops
Need to reschedule? No problem. Tell us and we will move you to the next available slot of the same workshop, free of charge.
One-to-one workshops
One-to-one sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. Tell us, and we will move your session to the next available time that works for both of us.
Transferring your seat
You may transfer your seat to another person with at least 72 hours' notice. Send us their name and contact details, and let them know these terms apply to them as well.
Late arrival and no-shows
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time. If you are late, you may join as soon as you arrive. The session will not be extended and the fee will not be adjusted.
- If you do not attend and have not told us in advance, the session is treated as a no-show. No refund is due.
- If you miss one session of a multi-session workshop, you may attend that session in another batch if a seat is available. We cannot guarantee a place.
If we cancel or change a batch
Occasionally we may need to postpone or cancel a batch, for example if the educator is unwell or for reasons outside our control. In that case:
- We will tell you as soon as we know, and wherever possible at least 48 hours before the session.
- You may choose either a full refund of the amount you paid, including GST, or a seat in the next available batch at no extra cost.
- If we change the date or time and the new schedule does not suit you, you are entitled to a full refund, whatever the notice period.
- If a session is cancelled part-way through a multi-session workshop, we will reschedule the remaining sessions or refund the fee for sessions not delivered, as you prefer.
Our responsibility in this situation is limited to the workshop fee you paid. We cannot reimburse travel, accommodation or other costs you have incurred.
Online workshops
- You are responsible for a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and good lighting at your end.
- If a session cannot proceed because of a fault on our side, we will reschedule it or refund the fee for that session.
- Problems with your own connection or device do not entitle you to a refund. We will do our best to help you reconnect, but the session will continue for the group.
- Joining links are personal to you and may not be shared.
Collaboration spots
From time to time we offer a free or discounted workshop spot in exchange for photographs, video or a review. The terms of that exchange are agreed with you in writing before you book. Where a spot is free or heavily discounted, the refund table above does not apply, but we ask for at least 72 hours' notice if you cannot attend so that the seat can be offered to someone else.
Safety and conduct
- Please tell us in advance about any allergy, skin sensitivity or health matter that is relevant to the workshop. We will adapt where we reasonably can. If you do not tell us, we cannot be responsible for a reaction to products used.
- Please treat the educator, the studio and other participants with courtesy. We may ask a participant to leave if their conduct disrupts the workshop, in which case no refund is due.
- Workshops are intended for adults. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make the booking on your behalf.
Workshop content
- Workshop material, demonstrations and notes are for your personal learning. You may not record, copy, share or resell them without our written permission.
- We may photograph or record sessions for our website and social media only with the consent of the people featured. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.
Liability
Our workshops are educational. We teach with care, but the results you achieve depend on your own practice, and we do not promise any particular outcome, such as employment or income. To the extent permitted by law, Gajahasta's liability in connection with any workshop is limited to the fee you paid for it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please write to us first. We will acknowledge it and respond within 7 working days, and we will do our best to resolve it fairly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved in this way is subject to the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. The terms in force when you paid for your workshop are the ones that apply to your booking.
